Founded in 2006, Harold Arts is a non-profit organization dedicated to bolstering the efforts of emerging and mid-career artists and musicians through self-directed and project-driven residency programs.
Held on the Haven Tree Farm in Chesterhill, Ohio, Harold Arts offers comfortable accommodations, gourmet meals, a recording facility, a wood fired kiln, and wood working equipment to artists seeking a refuge for interdisciplinary experimentation or independent practice within a casual yet critical environment. While residents are encouraged to prepare themselves for daunting amounts of freedom, visiting luminaries (critics, curators, and established artists) are invited to the farm to lend a bit of structure through lectures and one-to one visits with residents. Past visitors include Joe Adamik and Diana Guerrero Macia, Tricia Van Eck, Matthew Friday, Roberto Lange, Claire Pentecost, Larry Kart, Lori Waxman, Daniel Quiles, and Sabina Ott. Harold Arts frequently works with other cultural partners including Astro Space Party, threewalls, dflux, and Sundmagi records, to realize the full potential of projects initiated each summer.
See you in the woods.
